Glacier Peak is perhaps the most reclusive of all the 10k' volcanoes, rewarding views of a volcano atop North Cascade ruggedness for those who seek it. Located between Mt Baker and Mt Rainier, there are few easy vantage points of the peak. This profile map shows the southern slopes.

Profile Maps show a familiar outline in a new perspective. These maps are made by creating a digital 3D model, using the same high resolution elevation data as our birds-eye view maps. This model can be rotated, allowing the map to be viewed in profile.

Profile map have a photographic quality, but all shading is from the elevation data. Rock, glacier, meadow are all shaded based solely by elevation. This gives a clear and unique perspective on terrain, and views that may never be possible to observe without this type of profile map.

Materials

Our maps have exquisite detail, discernible from across the room to within inches of the map.

  • Map prints are museum-quality and archival giclees.
  • We use Canon's top-of-the-line fine art printers.
  • Paper is rich and durable matte paper (300g/m2) that is acid-free and OBA-free. This paper is 100% cotton from environmentally friendly, recovered fibers.
